Hi! My name is Sarah, and I am the face behind this blog. You’re probably here because you’d like to learn more about me. I’m flattered! *insert hair flip emoji* Anyway, here’s a little bit of my story! I was born and raised in the French-speaking part of Belgium. After high school, I moved to the United Statesand became an exchange student. Curiosity brought me to cross an ocean, and a 17-year-old high school boy made me stay.
That was over 10 years ago. The high school boy – whose name is Garrett – eventually became my husband. Today we live on a farm in Oklahoma with our three cats and two dogs. I teach 7th grade English at a local school, and Garrett is a paramedic for our county EMS service. I found my passion for travel in 2018. When a certain pandemic hit, I realized travel should not be taken for granted.
Today, we take full advantage of my teacher vacations and bicultural background to travel across Europe and the United States any chance we get. I started this blog to share all of my crazy adventures as a European expatriate and frugal traveler. On this blog, you will find detailed travel itineraries as well as sustainability tips, foodie guides and more. I hope you enjoy your visit and find something to feed your wanderlust or inspire you to turn your house into a home.
